Simply Puglia are delighted to offer a Nineteenth-century palace in the province of Lecce located in the historic centre close to the town hall square. This historic residence is called Palazzo Carrozzini, and belongs to an Aristocratic family. It still preserves many of the original eighteenth-century Salento palace features and it has had a substantial number of additions to it over the past few centuries.

The building is set over three floors, accessed through a large wooden door that leads to a beautiful covered entrance hall way that has an open atrium and a garden. The stunning garden has olive and citrus trees, all irrigated by an underground cistern. To the left of the hallway is a large staircase with two ramps which takes you to the upper floors and is the noble part of the building consisting of several rooms, sleeping area, common living rooms, kitchen and bathroom. The roofs of these rooms are pavilion and square in Lecce style, with pictorial decorations of neoclassical taste still visible to a large extent. In the Amorini lounge there are decorations that refer to different aspects of noble life, which represented a “status symbol” of the stately status. The references in the decorations are to music, to war scenarios, to mythological motifs. In one room there is a fresco representing two views that seem to represent the castle of Otranto one and the castle of Gallipoli the other, perhaps to indicate the equidistance of Soleto from the two cities. In addition to the Carrozzini family coat of arms, the cross of the Knights of Malta is present in various points of the noble residence. The geographical position of Soleto is strategic for tourism purposes because it allows to reach in a short time and through sliding roads of many important cities.
